About our Northport concrete contractor team

Our story started on empty lots
I learned concrete on new construction crews, pouring slabs and driveways on lots where nobody lived yet. In 2017 I started Northport Concrete to work on homes people already live in, because that's a different job. There's a car that needs somewhere to park, a dog in the yard and a family walking past the forms every morning.
Most of our calls around Northport and the rest of Tuscaloosa County are worn driveways, patios and walks that need replacing, or new concrete for an existing house. The people calling want it done right without a lot of back and forth. That's why I care most about the part you can't see. The base is what the slab sits on, and control joints are the cuts that give a crack a straight place to go. Get those two right and the concrete still looks good years from now.

What working with our crew is like
Here's what you'll notice from the first visit to the day we pack up, and why we do it that way on every driveway, patio and walk.
One person from estimate to pour
You get a straight answer on the first visit, because I'm the one who looks at your job and I'm the one who runs it. Our own crew does the forming, pouring and finishing, and I'm on site for the pours.
An estimate you can compare
Your written estimate spells out the groundwork, the joints and the cleanup, so you can line it up against any other bid. If a cheaper finish makes more sense, I'll tell you, but the base is the last place I'd cut, because it's hidden on day one and it's what settles first.
A plan for the people in your house
Before the pour we work out where you'll park and how to keep kids and pets off the fresh slab while it cures, which is the wait while it hardens enough to use. When we leave, your yard should look the way we found it, since you're the one who lives there.
Licenses and permits for concrete work here
Licensed and fully insured
Licensed and fully insured. The City of Northport's Revenue Department licenses businesses working inside the city limits and the area 3 miles past them, and a company based outside Northport has to buy a license before working here.
Permits through the city's building office
In Northport, the Chief Building Official handles permits for new construction and alterations in that same area and inspects the work. We check which office covers your address, and when your job needs a permit we handle the paperwork and set up the inspections so you don't have to.
